questions about a 440

ok here it is to night race i was was leading then all of asudden it started breaking up real bad like it was running out of gas on top end well i figured i needed the points so id finish the race how back to the pit the intake from the air box to the carb fell off now it was dusty so this might not be a good thing what happens if it blows up and needs bored do they make a bigger piston for the 440 sleeve with out stroking it or putting a heavery rod in ??

Depending on how bad it is you could get away with a hone. Dust is fine. I imagine you could hone that.

If it is worse something that needs to be bored then that depends on the sleeve you installed. If its a weisco sleeve your probably out of luck... JE or Ross and it might have a bore left.

But if theres not enough sleeve to rebore then you need it resleeved.

I'm not 100% positive thats how it works but ... i'm pretty certain.
