How stupid. You would think someone would have more common sense. Although I would probably think the same thing he was with it only haveing 2 AAA batteries. How can those small batteries do somthing like that to someone?

I watched this on Modern Marvels on the History Channel today.

The way they get all the power out of 2 3A's is through a series of transformers. They didn't go into detail but the transformers work to concentrate the energy. They compared it to a hose, without a nozzle the water current comes out weak, but with a pressurized nozzle it comes out much stronger but still the same amount of water coming out.

They don't concentrate the energy, they change it, they transform it.

Electrical power has two components, just like water power. First is pressure, second is flow rate. Compare a waterfall to a firehose. The waterfall has lots of flow, but very little pressure. The firehose has lots of pressure, but not near as much flow as the waterfall. Power is pressure times flow rate.

The transformers basically change flow rate into pressure. It's very difficult to tell you how. If you double the pressure, and cut the flow rate in half, you still have the same amount of power. So basically, the 2 AAA batteries are putting out lots of flow at very little pressure, and the transformers change it into lots of pressure with very little flow.

Electrical pressure is measured in Volts, while electrical flow rate is measured in amps. It takes lots of voltage to penetrate your skin, but once it does, it doesn't take much flow to make you jump and dance.

Yeah, i know a bit about electrical transformers, probably because i have built a few for my dad. Thats what his company builds.
