have any of you used there oil with moly? I have heard it was very good, and alot of the crf450 bikes were running it in there motor side.

If you want to go "BY THE BOOK" the Manual does say to NOT use Moly. There is chart in the owners manual that shows proper motor and tranny oil options, and Moly is not one of the recommended ones.

But you can obviously use what ever you wish.

Well, i guess that i am not by the book then, same goes with excessive speeds. . .whoops:rolleyes:

You can use moly oil on the engine side. Just make sure the engine is FULLY broken in before you use it or it will not break in properly. I use it. Works great. Pricey.... but it's the best. I believe in the service manual it states you can use either oil on engine side.

I use Schaeffers which has moly in my 450. I used redline in my raptor and i never had any problems with the clutch.

Page 87 in your owners manual Oil & Filter says you can use Pro Honda GN4 or HP4 (without Molybdenum additives) HP4M (with molybdenum additives), 4 stroke oil, or equivalent.

Page 93 for the Tranny No Moly
