The link to your pics doesn't take me to the pics. But you are lucky that the cable was that low. I remember a couple years ago up here in the winter someone put a thin cable across part of a snowmobile trail, and some guy got his head taken off. Consider yourself very lucky, and how fast were you going?

Got any pics of the gash in your side?

I know if I had my head chopped off riding on one of my trails from someone else, I'd come after them as a ghost...and I would make them go in the worst way possible...watching Barney rap with a bunch of ricers dragging in the background!

consider yourself very lucky...there was a kid that was just killed locally by the same thing last week. i hope the land owner is happy his cable took a life.there were not any trespassing signs on the property either.even if there were,it still gets to me how some people think it justified.i don't see how having your life taken from you for riding on someones property is right.there is a guy who lives by a pole line in my area.he doesn't own the pole line but there is a path there that leads to an area near his property.he put barb wire across the path and covered it with bushes.luckily i was going slow or i could have died.it's something i haven't forgotten and i will pay his *** back some day.:grr:

in most cases if you string a cable you must have little ribbons or something every foot or so to make it visible to everybody. talk to a lawyer see if that law exist in ur area.

This cable was an anchor for a dredging machine in a pond and there was a pile of dirt where it went into the ground so i could not see that part. And at the same time there was a flock of a about a hundred seagulls taking off cause i was coming so i slowed down so i would not get **** on and then i hit it. And yes i was VERY lucky.

yup, youre lucky, there is a field that has powerlines for a radio station in it behind my buddy's backyard practice track (also goes down into some big trails and hillclimbs thats not his....) and some dude got completely decapitated. He was drag racing some guys on a KX250 and they were going back and forth without letting the dust settle. He was on the outside line and couldnt see. Next thing you know, he hit one of the anchoring cables in like 5th gear and it took his head all the way right off.... I wasnt there that day, but my friend who lives right in front of that is the one who called the ambulance. Obviously there was no saving him... Now they patrol that area like mad via a side access road and impound anything anyones riding on that part.

Glad ur not hurt dude...

not to flame anyone, but sueing is just plain gay, watch ur surroundings and if ur not sure of them jusy take it easy, never just assume... In most cases when people sue its for their own stupidity or something they dont want to take responsibility when its their fault

The stupid thing is: there could be a kid say 16 riding a quad on private property. Kid hits a pole or stake in the ground and gets thrown off the quad and gets hurt. Even though the kid was illegally riding on private land, his parents can sue the poor land owner and win! That's really ***ced up!

I do not plan on sueing any way cause yes it is partly my fault. And so many people ride there it would ruin it for them.

I was riding in a big san quarry and the cops dont mind us being there on the weekends when no body is there. Like i said i dont want to ruin this good riding spot for others.

Wow that gash has gotta hurt, not a nice clean cut I'm sure. Way back when I rode dirt bikes I caught a cable under the front fender, my uhm, crotch dented the gas tank and then I flew 20' over the bars landed flat on my back but thats not what hurt the most!:eek2:

How could people be so cruel, they dont know that if they get sued the riders could own his property and he could be sent to jail.

People these days.
