Bearing carrier q's

Well my Herrmann Racing bearing carrier took a dump after only 25-30 hours of ride time so I need to get a new carrier:mad: . I've narrowed it down to RAD or RPM but I'm a little confused as to the tapered - versus - dual row bearings option. Is it true that I will lose a lot of chain adjustment if I use a tapered and may even need to go with half links? I don't even know what the heck a half link is:o Thanks...

I"ve been running a dual row burgard carrier for 2 years now. I pull it out and grease it about every 3 months, and it's workin just like it was the day I put it in..:cool:
