One of the first things I did when I got mine was grind down the steering stop on the frame so it would turn better.

yah..my 450 is easier to balance then my 400ex was...also easier to get up too...so honestly im goign to say the 450r isnt like the 400ex in your ways b/c its better in both..I think the steering is sharper too

Yeah. Post some pics of what need to be ground off. A little more steering would be nice.

down at the base of the stem you will see two stops. turn bars back and forth and you will see what stops the steering.

Exactly what Hammer said. It is part of the frame. You need some sort of grinder or dremel to do the cutting. Make sure you only do a little at a time from either side. A little makes it turn a lot. I scribed a line on each side and ground it down to there. I think I took off between a 1/16 and an 1/8 of inch from either side don't remember I did it 7 months ago. Make sure you don't go crazy because it will over steer and the steering will lock up. You can tell if it's even by how close the bars come to the tank.

I was thinking of grinding down the stops on my r, I did it about 6 years ago on my banshee. Although I would grind the stops on the stem versus the frame....

They have pretty diffrent ballaceing points, And what makes the 450r easier to keep up in a wheelie is the HP. And the 450r doesnt turn as sharp either!

If I did any grinding, I would grind the stem.....Less permenant.

As for how sharp it steers.....I just wicked the throttle open until it comes around, works great!:macho
