changing oil in 400ex HELP!

i never changed oil in a quad but my ex needed it so i took the plug out of the oil tank and now it wont go back in for anything. Its like a 14mm bolt then has a sleeve then like a thread that theads onto a stud or something but there is nothing for it to thread on im lost im going riding in couple hours and i cant get the drain plug on please help....also how uch oil does it take? :confused:

It should go right back in.

Dumb question but are you twisting it the correct way, and be sure you have it straight or you are going to have a bigger problem on your hands.

Also did you get the drain plug under the shifter. If you are going to do it do it the right way and change the filter!

You can't get it in....that's not good:macho Not sure what to tell ya, goes in the opposite way it came out. Righty tighty...are you turning it the correct way.

It takes 1.7 qts, or maybe 1.8 qts. You get the idea.

yeah make sure you get the bolt under the shifter and get a new oil filter i didnt do that the first time
