I know it can be beat, and is easy once you learn the trick. At least thats what it said in the comment section where I got the game. I havent beat it yet though.:(

You can win if you go first. The solution is not easy to understand. No, I did not come up with the solution myself.

First, think in terms of binary numbers. 1=1, 2=10, 3=11, 4=100, ect.

Now, convert each row to binary. So at the start of the game, you should have:

6=110
5=101
4=100
3=11

Now, add those binary numbers as if they were actual base-10 numbers. 110+101+100+11=322

Now, on your turn, just make sure the total has ALL EVEN NUMBERS. For example, on your first turn, you can take 4 pearls from the row of 6, leaving 2 left. This would leave:

2=10
5=101
4=100
3=11

10+101+100+11=222. 222 is all even digits.

As long as you leave him with a configuration that yields all even numbers, you'll win. Just as long as it isn't 1 and 1, which would technically equal 2, an even number, but he'll just take one and you'll lose.

here's a hint to anyone pist off at the game. 1,2,3 you figure out the order and what rows to pick from. binary!!!

Well, I can't play the link that SGA put up because that site is blocked here at work. There are several different versions of the game, all with the same goal, leave him with the last pearl. I'm not sure which game SGA has linked, but in version 2 you can choose who goes first.

Maybe that's why so many people are confused by the binary thing. I assumed it was version 2 that you were playing, which is why I put 6, 5, 4, 3 for the rows. I think the first version only has 3 rows?
