hey i know you have to use a 01 rear raptor shock but couldnt you use a other year with a piggyback and just shave the airbox down, they do it like that with 400ex shocks on blasters. or would it be too high and go into the airboot or something??

I think it hits the frame and restricts the motion, but I am not sure never saw it in person. Ask Bradley of Jeff@quadshop

It won't work, it will hit the frame.

If I was you I wouldn't even waste money trying to do suspension the cheap way. In the long run, You'll be kicking your self because you didn't spend the money on something you really want. I'm just going to deal with my stockers until I can afford my burgard/elka setup.

Actually the raptor upgrade is a great way to improve this suspension, and cheap. It is way better than stock and will only cost you $100 or so.

I thought about doing the 250r or 400ex conversion for a blaster, I know Flyin did it. Thats ok If you want better suspension and your on a budget, but if you want to do it properly, do it right the first time.

blaster12408..man, dont speak unless you've ran this set-up...It is much better than my old works rear shock...this is just like buying an aftermarket shock for less money!

I didn't mean to be an arse. I didn't know that a raptor conversion worked so good. I though it was similar to the 400ex or 250r shock on a blaster, which didn't work the best. Sorry if I pissed you off. :(

Sorry if I pissed you off. :( My brother put a rear 400EX shock on his Blaster and Banshee shocks on the front and it's a big improvement over stock

It is an improvement, but elka's are way better. I've heard good things about the 400ex rear, but the banshee fronts can damage your balljoints.

idk why this is turning into bhq forum but my friend just put a 400ex shock on his blaster and its 100% nicer then stock and a hell of alot cheaper

ok one more question, couldnt u put it so instead of having the resivoir on top, it was underneath?? or would it still hit something??

The experts have spoken! lol Naw, this type thread happens all the time. Some call them junkyard mods and mickey mouse upgrades but in reality the "proven" ones are pretty sound in their own rights.
I do beleive that the 01" IS the only one that will work, period. Unless you do some type of serious and unsafe mod, I don't know about it, there is not a whole lot of room in there. PM me I know a guy who has got one cheap.
