I was talking about the distance from the quad to the ground. They say its suppose to be around 7 to 7.5 inches. and about a half inch lower in the rear than the front. I was just wonder if you figure this with the rider on or off.

Always set ride height with the rider on the quad. Measure both ends because as you adjust one end, the other end changes. This is because the front and rear axles are the pivot points.

With you on the bike, 7 in the rear 7 1/2 on the front is a good place to start out. I can usually get away with a lower ride heigth. If its a rough choppy track take it up a little, and if its a fast smoooth track. Drop it down an inch or so, you will make up mucho time the corners.

I know this has been asked before, but exactly where do you measure ride height? Also, what is a good height for CC racing?

i just read an article about ride height and i think you measure from either the front or back of the footpeg as long as you stick with one or the other, and its with the rider on the bike in full gear. i can dig up the article if you need more info.

I just talked to elka the other day, and on this quad you want to run the front end the same height as the rear end. I know other quads you run the front higher, but I'm just going by what elka said. I'm running about 7 3/4" on mine. Rides very nice.

I have Long travel in the front and GT thunder linkage in the rear.

Also, the GT thunder linkage is pretty sweet! For 250 bucks it was more than worth the money.

When I got my ride height adjustment sheet from Laz for the 450r.It says 8"at the foot pegs then 22"forward of the pegs it should be 7 and3/4". maybe its the other way around (I cant remember Im at work or I would look) but either way its close and then you have to fine tune it to your likes.
This is with rider on the machine.
