View Full Version : 300ex or 400ex

my friend is getting into atv's, after i talked him into it.. hes 15, 5"6 130lbs.. he has never rode a dirtbike or atv in his life.. but hes not a complete moron and will try to wheelie first day he gets it.. i say a 400ex is good for him... i see kids starting off on yfz450s, crazy.. what do you think?

400ex would be better, he will get used to it fast. If he gets a 300 then he will want more power after the initial learning period and wished he got a 400.

400, he may be a little young for it and unexperienced, but will be able to keep ot for long time. i have 300 and im 6'1" 270 and wish i would have bought a 400. im too heavy! 400 has plenty of power.

I got my 300ex 2 years ago, and after the first year I was wanting much more power. It's a good machine to learn on or to cruse around, but could use more power. But my 300 gets the job done so its all good.
