416ex jetting

My 416 when running at low rpm's and is gassed on spits and sputers. Also when coming down from higher rpm's to idel it will die. The motor is a je 416 piston with stage 2 hotcam.It is now jetted with a 165 main,needle on 4th position,and a 42 pilot with the air sckew 2 and 3/4 out

it sounds like you have an air leak. check for leaks on the boot that connects the carb to the head. there is a an o-ring in that boot where it mounts to the head. also, some of the boots have a tendency to crack. it maybe hard to see, but look closely.
