just bought first 2 stroke...it started to have blue smoke coming from pipe...just wondering what it is or what i have to do.

just bought first 2 stroke...it started to have blue smoke coming from pipe...just wondering what it is or what i have to do. worng forum for first off. but anyways since its a premix quad it burns oil and if its a lower quality oil it will make more smoke unlike a higher quality oil and also if you mix rich it will burn more. not that rich is bad matter of fact it makes a tighter seal. another thing is your center seals could be going so check your oil fill it up and ride it and see if you lose a good bit after a few minutes and that will tell you along with your rod area full of oil:( hope that helps! for more R help join http://rriders.com

two strokes use the oil you premix to lubricate the piston, and rod, and piston pin, and clyinder, it is supossed to smoke, now, alot of smoke is a different story

If you dont want it to smoke, just dont mix in oil with the gas anymore.

????????? 400ex is a 4 stroke -> requires no oil premix

I think he was trying to say something like you don't take care of your quad or do the right things, so that's why the engine is being rebuilt?:confused:

For mikes450R: Your 250R shouldn't be smoking blue, my Banshee runs 32:1 Castrol and it puts out fine white/greyish smoke that isn't very dark/thick. Even when I ran it at 20:1 pre-mix (stock) it didn't smoke like you are saying. Check to make sure your rings are good and make sure you use high quality oil like Amsoil.

OOOO, no I just wanted to go faster, I needed a new cam chain, and clutch, so I said f' it and do everything.
