Well im pretty set on the 450r...first i wanted the raptor, then the yfz...now the r. Only cause i want something light, fast and good on the trials and the yfz is more track

so i have a couple questions. Im getting my 450r (or raptor) within the month HOPEFULLY as soon as all the tecate parts are gone which might be by next week im going to pick her up brand new

i just have a few questions

how is it trail riding...i used to ahve a 400ex are they good like them?

are the lights bright at night?

any one own theirs in the snow time...were they even out then? Cause winter comes and it gets deep snow here i might want to throw paddles on her and rip around.

thanks
thats all

Yes, they do just fine on trails, especially when you drop a tooth up front. Snow, no i haven't ridden snow, seeing as how they came out spring time, and i just got mine in June, but most quads will do fine in some snow. Buy it and forget the Craptors! You will thank me. . .

how are the lights? for a quad with no battery are they bright?

and the raptor is a little too big and skinny for my style. I like it fast and ride rough and i think the r is what i want. Cause i want to still hit rausch every weekend.:D

The lights on the 450R are much better than a 400ex imo.

u will love the R...i reccommend staying far away from the raptor...

The r is great for the trails. Just drop down to a 13t front sprocket, get your suspension set up, and you will be very happy.

If it doesn't have a battery for the light, what does it use? A magneto?? Does it have to be high revved to get a lot of light out of it?

I don't know what it uses, but it stays pretty constant.

the light stays the same brightness no matter how high the engine is being revved. it only barely flickers on and off when the engine is at a slow idle. From my experience the lights are pretty dang bright, dont have much to compare them to considering my 450 is the only quad i actually have ridden in the dark but from my (limited) experience, theyre almost like car lights heh.

I wish you luck. I am in the same position, getting a little more cash and then buying a 450R!

The bike has an alternator. The only downside is your lights only work when the bike is running.

If you find your headlight flickering then your idle speed is too low.

That's awesome. Is there any way for you to take a bike that has lights running on a magneto and hook up a battery to it or install an alternator?
