What do you guys think of the idea of buying a 450R for some trails riding and taking it to the track once a week or so? I will not be racing it at all. Do you think it is worth it or is it just overkill?

IMO its over kill, you can be just as fast in the woods on a 400ex or even the new z400. im not a big suzuki fan but it has reverse and gas charged shocks. buying a atv like the 450r and yfz is like buying a chevelle to go get groceries.

I would say get it!! verry good in the woods!! just add skid plates.

Hay my sister gets groceries with her chevelle.

Is it really good in the woods? How does it handle twisting trails? The reason I want one over a 400ex is because first of all, I have a need for speed, and secondly, I fell in love with it when I first saw it. I want something that will run with my friends' CRF250R and KTM 125EXC on the wide open stretches and fields. Also, I want something that is good on the track that I will be going to once a week.

it seems to be doing quite well at the XC nationals. for the speed parts, how many times will you be opening it up? what level of a rider are you? on the MX track, will you be doing any of the jumps, or riding it hard enough to tell the difference?

thats just a few of the questions you shuld ask your self before buying anything. just because its there and pretty dosent mean you have to have it.
