im checking too see if anyone would be interested in buying a 500ex motor, or swapping a stock and cash. ridden 6 times since it was completely rebuilt. has fst 500 kit, new hardened rocker, web cam, heavy duty valve springs, port and flow, all the bearing were replaced, fst clutch springs, barnett clutch plates, this motor cost well over $2000 too do

im not interested in buying this, but i would like to know how that compares to your 450r? I was hill climbing wiht a guy who said his was punched out over 500??? I dunno exactly what he had done, but it seemed fast. We didnt drag, but im just curious.

I'm interested ,I have a 2001 engine that I'm getting rebuilt as we speak. The engine wil have 01 bottom end a 03 jug with new sleeve and wiseco 11:1 piston and an 03 head. It should be back together within a week or 2. I also have a pro circuit pipe full bore plastic and some xtra tires and stuff if you would be interested.

why would you want to sell your fst 500ex motor?

im interested in the motor.

I have a 2001 416 with an xr 400 cam that was put in last year. Last fall i also put in new clutch basket and clutchs,plates and springs.

too answer all your questions
this motor has more torque then anything i have ridden by far including my 450r my brothers yfz. speed wise it is very fast a slightly modified 450 will beat it in top end but not down low.
im selling my 500 because i rebuilt the motor in august last year and have not ridden it since the end of september. i have been debating selling it since january. i really dont want too but at the same time i hate too see it sit and i could use the money for my new snowmobiles and 450r. i do start the bike and let it run every week or two. im kind off afraid too ride because with my luck i will crash and total it.

make an offer. im not dumping it for nothing i just want a fair amount. check into what one off these kits cost then add in the hardened rockers, port flow and cam along with new bearings and labor for the machine work. $$$$$$
