Oiling clutch cable

Hey all, could someone tell me the best way to oil my clutch cable? It seems too hard to pull, and i know it could be smoother. Also what kind of oil do i use? Thanks

The best way is with a cable oiling tool that clamps around the cable housing and allows you to insert the plastic tube on any lubricant can and spray it into the cable until it comes out the bottom. Very effective.
