i bought one of the older 450r's(one of the first ones made)

well during a 500 mile race it lost all power and sputtered...it wqould have on and off power

well took it 2 the dealer and found out the keepers on the intake valves fell off, and also my decompression spring was weak(i think thats what they called it)

so if you ahve one of the older ones watch out for this

Why do you say the older ones? Did they change anything on the new ones? It's my understanding the '05's are exactly the same as the '04's. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

mine had a little issue last weekend also, we had been riding trails for 3 hrs had it 4th gear on the gas next thing I know I try giving it more gas and it started to bog so I kept going for a little while only giving it a little throttle and thought I had better pull over in case it is serious, (so I don't get my butt chewed) ;) I ended up being towed back, we came home Colby cleaned the carb he said everything looked good in the carb, put it back on and it ran fine. So I don't know what its attitude was :macho
