I have a set all the way around my 400.... I have PEP ZPS shocks set up for a 185 lb\ mx rider and i love them ... Herman a-arms with carbon fiber rims, zps fully adj. make a great set up for a front end.. and as far as back end of my bike I have pep zps back shock fully adj... on a stock 400 swing arms and rpm axle with carbon fiber rims cant beat it... zps is the way to go for mx... Love it

i am glad to hear all this cause i was setteled on getting either tcs or elkas, even though a couple of guys suggested works, tcs seemed like the best bang for your buck!!

Me too. And I love my TCS!!! Right after I put mine on, I had to have some surgery and couldn't do ANYTHING for 6 weeks. I gained 20 lbs. and they still won't bottom out unless I REALLY REALLY mess up on a BIG jump!!! And I think they are hard to beat for the money.

My TCS came in about 2 weeks and my Elka's came in about 6 days. Overall I love the TCS shocks! But, of course they arent as good as Elka's...

In what way are elka's better?

Works are decent shocks for the money they are no tcs or elka's. I have works triple rates with rezzies and this winter I will be getting tcs. No comparison

its hard to explain, if you've owned both elka and TCS you will know. The elka's soak up the small bumps sooo nice and land from jumps smooth. Plus, there customer service is un-beatable!Don't get me wrong, i have TCS also and they are awesome!

i've ridden on both setup for my weight, TCS triple /w rezzies on a KFX400 and Elka triple piggybacks on a Z400. both on stock arms.

i couldn't tell the difference after i dialed the Elkas in for my riding style(his compression adjustment was a little harsher than how i have my TCS set up).

TCS = best bang for the buck. in other words, why pay the extra for Elka when you can get the same performance for less money.

though i did like his Elka rebuild for the rear better than my TCS rebuild. 4th gear pinned hitting sand washes in the dunes, my rear started swapping a little. had to be the valving because the part numbers on both Eibach springs for both rebuilds were exactly the same.

I do own both, I prefer TCS. Maybe it's because they are set-up better, both are great, and no complaints either way, I think every shock is the best besides works, as long as they are set-up correctly, you won't notice a difference at all.

TCS rebuilds do more work to the back shock, I think they hard anodize the shaft for strength. That's why it's more expensive, I'm sure if you send your back TCS shock out for a revalve, you will like it more then the elka.
