You get what you pay for. Go with a LSR or RPM. You can adust them to either +1 or +3 inches. I don't know of any non-adjustable axles worth a crap.

Would spacers be out of the question for XC and MX??? Since im only asking for 2 inches out of the back...or would they break?

You don't want to run a 50 inch width for XC. I use a LS axle with spacers and run it +2 wider than stock for XC and can make it a full +4 if I want when i go to the MX track.

I used a pair of wheel spacers on my bike until I could afford an axle. But I only used them for TT. I did have a pretty good wreck that bent the subframe and stock axle but the spacers were fine. I now have a LSR +2 and I like it better. I would discourage you from a Durablue cause they are designed to break instead of bending and I have seen 2 that were snaped in half. But if money isn't too big of an issue get a LSR Xcalibur instead of the wheel spacers.
