Valve Adjustment

I have about 25 hous on my 400ex and its time to adjust the valves. Im not gonna make the honda dealer do cause i wanna learn how to do it by myslef. Clymer's book says to set the pistion TDC and set the valves at 10mm intake and 12mm eshaust. Then it says to set the valves at 95 degrees motor temp. Im not sure if that is Hot or Cold. How long do i have to run the motor before i adjust the valves.

Anyone adjust their valves themselves? Im doing this today so i need some tips or advice. Thanx
