I don't know about nitrouspowersports, but there's nothing wrong with nitrous on a quad. Sure, there's a risk, but only if you don't know what you are doing, or you try to go too far.

The only people afraid of nitrous are people that have never tried it.

yea im with wilken. nitrous might even be kinda good for engines like mine because of its icy temps (and my quad is air cooled...)

plus, a 30 shot of nitrous alone gives a quad like double the power :eek2:

A good rule of thumb when using nitrious is only shoot it with half of what your quads Hp is.

So if you have a 30hp bike, only shoot it with a 15hp of nitrous.

We started low on a z400 hitting it with 15hp shots then then 30hp, and even 40hp. It blew up in about 3 months. Only mods to the bike was an exhaust, cam and hi-comp piston. .. Shouldn't use a hi-comp piston either thats bad mojo with nitrous.

Proof right there. The only times you have problems with nitrous is when you go too far... (personally, I'd say a 40HP shot is too far)

Imagine if you were to increase your quad from 30hp to 70hp. How long would you expect your motor to last? You wouldn't even THINK about it without major modifications to strengthen your motor, a heavy-duty rod, all the goodies. So you really can't expect a nitrous motor pushing 70hp to last very long either.

Then again, what if you were only increasing from 30 to 40? You could probably use the stock rod, piston, and all that. So, my advice is: Go ahead and play with nitrous. I did, it was great fun, I learned a ton, I went a little too far and blew my rings. Realize that if you start pushing too far (because it's so easy to do) then YOU will break something also.

I remember seeing a Banshee for sale with nitrous in it. The guy who wrote the ad said he could beat any quad he goes up against. :eek2:
