as some of you probably know i've parted out my ex's and purchased a yfz. I thought I was on the way to having not a single selling problem. Looks like I though wrong :grr: I guess thats what i get for selling parts on ebay.

it was a 400ex works ultracross rear shock. it was pretty mint and a helluva deal for $300, heres the ridiculous e-mails they sent me:

Dear Seller, I am the recipent of the works ultra croos rear shock. we just received it today and we were a bit disappointed. It appears to be beat up pretty good in areas that the photograph did not show. Would you be willing to take this shock back and or would you be willing to pay for works to rebuild the shock and replace some severly worn components? Please help, your description of the item made it sound like it was in excellent condition. I appreciate you help on this sale resolution. Little smokey 78

Dear Seller,

I did not install it on my ATV, just received it on Wednesday afternoon. The
preload adjustment ring is worn down pretty far from adjusting it with a
screwdriver verus a preload tool. The threads or "clip grooves" are striped in
some places as well. It appears also from quick adjustment with a screwdriver.
the chips on the spring do not concern me all that much, they just are not that
great looking.
The rubber bumper is intact but is deteriating from weather and has tiny holes
in it. I compared it to my front works shocks bumpers and it needs to be
replaced. If you are willing to take this back I would appreciate it very much,
and if not would you please consider paying for works to re build it with fresh
parts?
Thank for your consideration.

Sorry to hear that, you might be able to contact ebay about the sellers listing? I doubt that will do very much though. Most ebay items are "Sold as is." I would still try to get it fixed somehow though.

Just curious but, Muff what were your replies to those emails? I've never had any problems with the parts I bought from you or you as a seller.

Hi, I am surprised to hear your complaints on this. For me to consider the
return you will have to be more specific of the "severly worn components." The
shock was clean, hardley any chips in the spring, slight marks in the hose
clamp, the rubber bumper on the shaft was in perfect condition, and a few marks
on the preload adjustment ring. These are the only things I knew about, and
those would not be severly worn, if you could consider them worn at all.

I will not, however, take the shock back if you just threw it on your quad and
decided you didnt like it enough and wanted your money back, or if you found out
it didnt fit your machine.

I need to know what exactly is wrong, before I can decide to take it back or
not.

Sorry, but I will not refund the money for those reasons. You are buying a used
product, if you are seriously that worried about a couple of marks and tiny
holes, then buy new, and only new. The shock is in excellent condition, and I
just cant possibly see how you'd even consider asking for your money back. If
you want to get rid of it, just put it back on ebay and buy a new shock. Dont
expect to find a better shock for $300, and expect to pay over double that for a
new one.

please do not e-mail me again
