I will be getting a wisco 440 kit what cam should I get I was thinking hot cam 2. what compression piston should I get and what kinda gas will I have to run. I have a k&n with outwears and procircuit exhaust. should I get better valves. would a carb make a big diff. how would it compare with other quads draging up sand mountian or what ever. what about porting the head and how much would it cost or could I do it myself .what gearing should have I have a 14 tooth on right now what do you guys use to make your plastic shiny.

I do everything but, try to build my bikes for mx the most. When I took my 400 to 440 I put the xr 400 cam in it. Good move. I had a xr400 before the trx400, and it was the best set up of the several bikes I was around. Do the 13.5 comp. & race gas if you don't want to lose the torque, good luck.

Pledge works pretty good to shine your plastic up. Lemon scent works the best for some reason to. Its cheap also.

Pledge huh? Ill keep that in mind, I use armorall, but that doesnt seem to last more than 15 seconds, then its back to its dull self.

Armorall atracts dust. Pledge does not. Try it it works I know lots of truck drivers who detail their trucks with it. It does wonders to the interior on a vehicle also.

If you are wanting to drag in the sand, then I would say that you need to sell the sandstars. SandStars are good OVERALL sand tires, but they don't have the same forward thrust that the straight fin paddles have. If you have sand stars, you will be at a big disadvantage because of the V paddle design. get the tallest straight paddles you can find. otherwise you will just end up being mediocre

I'd say get porting, and then a cam if you can fit it in the budget.

As far as what compression. 12:1 if you have race gas avalible and want to go through the trouble. Or 11:1 if you don't want the hassle and would like to just run premium.

If you havent bought the piston yet I would get a Ross or JE. Not sure if weisco fixed there 440 compression ratios. 11:1 on weisco is really more like 10:1.

WD-40 works great on plastics... Let it sit for a minute then lightly wipe it down

I was getting wisco piston because on ebay a wisco 440 kit, and a hotcam stage 2 is only 290.And I had like my sand stars because I love carving bowls and only dragrace about 1/10 of the time out at the dunes. If all I did was drag I wouldnt of got a 400ex but it was only 3200.
