Anybody download Service Pack 2 yet from Microsoft? I got a Windows Update message so I've left my PC on for a week now and have it set to auto download and install. Still nothing :grr: I know as soon as I shut my PC off it will try to download.

hrmmm, it didn't offer it as an update?

well, i would say it was installed then :)

try r-clik on My Computer and check Properties, that should tell you what version of XP you are using. if i rememeber correctly i think the build number was 2180.

if the Properties page doesn't tell you, go to a command promt and type winver, that will tell you your build number also.

you can also try this:

update Windows Update to v5.0

http://v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

then re-run Windows Update.

other than that, i dunnow what to do. i do recall the build # for IE6 changed with the update also, but that sh^t was way too long to try and remember.

When I right-click My Computer and go to Properties it says "Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 1." When I run winver it says Version 5.1 (Build 2600.xpsp2.030422-1633: Service Pack 1). I clicked that v5 link and it updated my Windows Updater but said no new updates are available. Maybe Microsoft is updating based on registration dates or something so they don't overload the server. Oh well, I guess I'll get it sooner or later. Until then Norton 2004, ZoneAlarm, Ad-AwareSE and the current Windows firewall will have to carry the load:D I don't know why I'm so worried about it. That above combination has kept me virus free for a long time now.
