Will works shocks for a 400ex bolt up to a z400 and have no problems? My buddy is gonna buy a used set and he is curious if there will be any problems.

Thanks.

they will bolt up but they will be extremly soft because the valving and stroke is all wrong. i know this cuz i tried selling my works to my buddy with a z400 and when we put em on they were way too soft. id advise against it

how do u figure that the 400ex and z are the same width same shock length and are the same wieght so i would think if they were valved for his wieght then it should be fine

i thought that the stock Z schocks where between one inch too 3/4 inch longer that stock TRX400ex schocks. But they will bolt up!

Mark is right, the 400ex shocks are too short for the Z400!

the upper shock mount on the Z is wider than on the EX. so say if you were tryin to bolt a set of Z shocks on a 400ex they wont fit the upper shock mount (well they will but you will have to force them hardcore with a hammer...once again i did that lol) but the EX ones will go onto the Z since their skinnier you know what i mean. trust me i tried this exact thing and they wont work and like jeff said the Z shocks are too short.
