k&n oil on a foam filter??

Is it ok to use the K&N air filter oil on a stock foam filter?

Not a good idea! Not tacky enough for foam- will run rich!

I was just at the Honda Dealer yesterday and the service manager told me it would be just fine to run the K and N oil.....guess this is bad advice then? Does anyone run one of the nylon bags over their filter? I am not riding mine in sand where I am used to seeing people use the "filter socks", but thought it might be a good idea as a pre-filter anyway?
