I've been away from the "z scene" for awhile, but I think a better option would be to go with a 434. You can bore your stock sleeve to this size and just have your cylinder replated. You keep your plated cylinder which not all 440 kits allow you too. You're not messing with a new sleeve either. You just need a piston kit, topend gasket kit and send it out to a place to have it bored and plated($250) plus cost of labor to put together which you'll have either way you choose. So you could do the 434 for under $500 plus installation.....

Try yoshi, I have a Doug Gust kit that comes with everything you'll need and my motor runs with 450's on a mx track, but still loses drag races. They have several kits depending on your price range, and you can upgrade from one kit to a better one later on. Mines been very reliable to me. I also would suggest looking into CT Racing, when I had my 400ex they built me a 440 kit that was impressive as well. I did learn that going with a JE piston, gives much more reliabilty than wiesco, after my 400ex blew the wiesco apart.

What kit do you use for the z?

It's called the Digger 450 Kit from Yoshi, it's actually 443cc I believe. It included a Yoshi Ti-system, Yoshi built JE piston, Yoshi clutch springs, Sleeve, Yoshi cams, Yoshi cdi box. I cant remember the total cost exactly but it was high, I do like the power it's with 450's on a mx track, but the top end still isnt as good in a drag race situation.
