400ex will not start

well i pulled out my 400 to ride it and it wont start it does not make a noise at all it just does nothing at all the fuse is fine i just checked what else could it be

is the key on and kill switch on

i am not that stupid
i thought the battery was dead i pulled it out and poped started it
and rode it for a bout a half and hour then i shut it off and it still would not start

and where would that be and if the bike has antthing rong with it then honda sucks cuz the bike is a month old and i have only used about 4 tanks of gas

your battery might not be worth a dookie. Is it holding charge?

hook the battery up to a booster box up to the battery and see if the solenoid clicks. if it doesnt then thats most likely your problem.try taping it with a wrench or something hard. now dont go wayling on it just tap it a few times and see what it does. if it does click then its your starter. go to your starter...do the same thing tap it with a wrench or a hammer or something if it doesnt spin over then take it off and try to spin it by hand. if it spins then hook the wires back up and get someone to hold on to it (probably pretty tight!) and tap the starter. if it still doesnt spin get a volt meter and check that you are getting power to it. if you arent its your wireing. if you are call around to local electric motor companies and see if they can rewind it. if they can it shouldnt be more than 50 bucks or close to it i got mine done for 20. i hope this helps you some, later dude

well i just rode and it judst shut off and wont start again it is the samw problem again i bought it new and i hate it when this happens i still need some help now it makes one click then the entire bike just shuts off

if you have a different battery try that, it could just be S***.
do your lights work ? if they do try crossing the solonoid(SP) with a screwdriver to see if it turns over..

sounds to me like you just got a bad battery.
take it back to the dealer

if it clicks once then all the lights and everything dont come on then thats what it is, the battery but if they do then its the starter. if it is under warantee then wait till tuesday (all shops here are closed on monday but the polaris shop) and take it to them and let them mess with it...it will be free...

my dealer ship is 2 hours away but i fixed it agin the battery wires where lose and i had to push the thing about 2 miles os trails cuz it would not start

I can tell you from that you have a bad connection. clean the terminals on the battery and the wires, and then clean the ground connection on the frame coming from the battery. Make everything that touches bare metal

You could have pop started it, I can pop start mine with about 20 ft of flat ground

it is ahrd to pop start it in a root filled trail and i did try that alot

Or you just dont weight enough . I wiegh about 220
