chassis skid plate

im looking into buying some skids for my 400ex. I ride all types of terrain. Do I really need them? Do any of you guys use them.? I kno im gettin the aftermarket swingarm skid but dont kno if i wanna get the chassis skid

The swingarm is necassary, and I would say the chassi is too. If you ride through a lot of rocks and stuff with no chassi skid, your a lot more likely to crack your case or something. The stock skid on the 400ex isn't bad, I've used that for all my riding. I don't ride a lot of real rutted trails or anything though. I would get both if you can afford it. If not, I'd get the chassi skid first, and then the swinger. Hope this helps!
