omg this sucks

well i have had my 450r for about 4 weeks now. and today something happened inside the motor. it just shut right off on me. and i herd this clicking noise just before it shut off. well now there isn't as much compression as there was. there is a lil but now a lot. and it is trying to start. but then i thought it could be the timing chain could be out of time. but really i don't know. but i am sure glad a got that 4 year warranty. i should be taking it there tomorrow or saturday

well they told me wround went wroung with my 450r. and one of the valuves or springs exploded i guess. and the valuve went down and hit the piston.

well sence that all happened you would have to get a new piston and valuve right and other stuff but i don't know what else. but i was woundering wouldn't you need a connecting rod too sence it hit the piston

well one other reason i just started to think about. i am not sure if i did it or not. but i think it hit the shifter and then it hit the rev limiter when i geared down. so i though that could of done something but i ain't sure

and now i got another idea that it could be. one of the rockers could of fell off so think that means one of the valuve holes should be shut. but i guess i ain't sure on that either

Did you oil run low. The bearing on the cam will go out and make a bad clicking noise if you run low on oil.... It should be a warranty thing. Sorry man that sucks.

no i wasn't running low on oil. cause i checked that like right after it shut off on me. and it was fine. i havn't even had it for 4 weeks yet and i was gonna change the oils at 4 weeks.

i know a guy who siezed up his rod bearings after a couple weeks on his yfz and it had those simptoms so thats could be it

yea maybe. and i was mad because i was gonna go to the fair today and drag it but it broke todays ago. grrrrrrr i just got no luck with 4 wheelers. the one that i had before this was a peice of junk when i got it and it gave me problems for 2 years. and the person i sold it to hasn't had a probably with it yet god darn i just don't have no luck with 4 wheelers

When mine was a couple of weeks old I had a problem that sounds close to that and it wound up being the compression release coming apart. Took it in and 30 min. later they had me back on the road. Good luck hope its not to big a deal :)

you get a 6-month warranty right off the bat (4-year is optional).
As long as you already did the 1st service, you should be all covered and good.

It's like 5 or 6 hundred or somewhere in that area.

its cost me 600$ for 4 years. and they toke 200$ off when i got that 4 year warranty. and they say it covers everything

yes in some cases. but i am glad i got it. but if my frame breaks like some of the other peoples are. i am i will be glad i got it

My buddie, Had a horible ticking sound coming from his 450r's top end. Well he took it into the shop where he bought the quad, And they worked on it and said that it had a kinked timing chain. And they said that we must have kinked it when we instaleld the HRC kit, But that HRC kit that we installed had been in there for almost 5 months. That doesnt make sence to me that it would just up and kink, But what do i know. Just if that kinked timing chain happed to u, i would complain, Cuz that just shouldnt happen!

mix master, thats nmot ture in some cases i have a very good and honest dealer, they fix what goes wrong pretty much everything and i know if my frame broke they wouldnt think twice about it.. you have a pretty ****tty dealer if they wont fix it, there either lazy and dont want to or just plain ignorant in a business sence..

the place where i got mine from is great. because i have never nicer people them. the place is called cernics. its in johnstown, pa. ask anyone who has bought something from there trust me.

they said they would cover mine. it covers ever thing. but i think i am gonna get insurce cause i reck maybe ever crash it up pretty bad. they will pay for it. its like 400$ a year

I too got my 450R from Cernic's, Best Dealer in PA for sure. They will take care of you. Unless Extreme neglegence is appearent.

Anyon in the PA or even MD, or Ohio area. I reccomend Cernics. They arent too big into the quad racing scene but that will change soon!

If they do things like the 400ex, the frames will be around $500. Fairly inexpensive.

planethondaracing sells 450r frames for $500 shipped

ATV insurance, best money spent IMO. 250 bucks a year and they cover everything. you bend or break a frame, they cover it. have a buddy that bent his frame on his DS650 and turned it in on insurance and they bought the frame and got a quote from a local dealer on how much it would be to swap out frames and then gave him and extra 500 bucks to do it himself. the frame was like 2000 bucks from bombardier. if your insurance company has ATV coverage, i would highly consider it.

What about if the quad is considered totaled? Will they cut you a check for the book value allowing you to keep the quad?

if the damage to the quad is more than the price of it, then it would be totaled out. i doubt they would right you a check and let you keep the quad, just like if you total out a car. i think my deductable is 200. not to sure though, the main reason i got it is incase it gets stolen or my house burns down.
