S10 people..what is this?!?!?

I was taking my s10 apart for repairs, and i pulled this off, the hose wasnt hooked to anything that i could see of, any idea what it is and what it does? thanks

that piece on rangers in part of the vacume system for the A/C. So put it back...

well i dont have cruise control or AC, so i dunno, the truck still starts up and stuff, and all the controls work.. another quesiton. we put a 3 in, body lift on it, ever since then the 4wd stopped working, any idea what happen, a vaccuum line come off?

your 4x4 probably quit working because you have vacuum disconnect front end and that ball is part of the vacuum system you probably disconnected it without knowing when you put the lift on plug it pack in and i think that should fix your 4x4

That is a vaccuum ball and my 4.3 liter 4x4 was barely able to idle without it! We bought a new one and put it on and it worked great!
4x4 is it possible that you lifted the body so high that the splines no longer engague!
