rear shock

I have an 03 300ex and I want to stiffen the rear shock up. If I stareing at the back of the quad wich way do I turn it and how do I turn it I tried turning it with channel locks but no dice.

Take a big screw driver and hammer and hit the top nut and back it off. Once its loose then you can move the bottom one which adjusts the spring. To make the spring stiffer you will want to tighten the nuts down.

i took off my airbox and muffler. Made it easier to really get to it. I just used some channel locks and sprayed it with wd-40 to loosen it up.
