i bought mine at ecc in san diego and it was 44 bucks. it is a motion pro cr type kit and i love it.

yes, if you are not used to using a twist then it is very hard to control. however, i used to race desert and trying to hold a thumb throttle wide open for 500 miles gets old fast.

twists are a real pain sometimes:devil: when your goin through woops ya tend to pulse the throttle up and down, go to jump and need to get back on the wheeler for a good landing youll end up wide open on the throttle. i'd say ride one with a twist first before ya go through all the trouble of changing it.

Riding a twist is wierd at first but anyone i know who has changed says they will never go back to thumb throttle. I tried a YFZ with a twist and i was actually getting the hang of it. It does make soo much more sense because with a twist your thumb is always wrapped around the handlebar and your locked on, it just takes practice to control. I often felt like my thumb was going to fall off on long rides with a thumb, especially in the winter.

Twist is the best in my opinion. I have twist throttles on both my 400ex's and my 450r. And on my 450 i have the 1/4 twist motion pro vortex throttle. The first time riding the 450 was with a thumb throttle and I felt like my right hand was going to come loose everytime going through whoops sections. I was also pretty inconsistant at keeping my speed the same through whoops so I was bouncing all over the place.. With the twist I agree you are more locked in and can feel more whats going on with your bike.. Grab a handful when needed and power through them whoops.
