What gear configuration is best for the 450r? Down one tooth in the front, or up one tooth? What about the back? I notice it feels like you have to keep the clutch in for quite a while on a stock 450r. Does regearing help that? I'm a little confused on how the different sized gears change the feel. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

when you gear the bike down, it will acclerate faster, but have a lower top out speed.

this is a link to the gearing calculator, but as of right now it isnt working for some reason http://www.kg4vpv.com/~ncliborne/450r.htm
when you go down 1 tooth on the
front, it gears the bike down, giving it more bottom end. most people like to go with a 1 tooth smaller front sproket, which would be a 13tooth. stock is 14tooth. if you add a tooth to the back, it will also gear it down. 1 tooth on the front is about the same as changing 4 on the back.

stock gearing is 14/38
hope this helps.
i ride/race in the woods, so im going to run 13/39. currently im running 13/38 and i am on the clutch way to much in the tight trials.
