A Flowmaster 50 series has a nice deep rumble to it. The 40 series is not quite a deep, but a lot louder. What type of exhaust setup are you going to run? Single in, dual out, true duels, single in single out? Makes a difference. Also, what size motor? Magnaflow and Borla also make nice mufflers too, but they are a little more than flowmaster.

My old truck, 2001 GMC Sierra single cab short box with a 4.8 V8, had a 4 series single in dual 2.5" out with 4" tips and it was loud and raspy. I had turndowns on it at first and it sounded better but ran like crap. When I ran the pipe all the way out the back it ran a lot better and the sound mellowed a little. On my new truck, 2002 Chevy Silverado ext cab with a 5.3 V8, I've got a flowpro muffler (read cheap flowmaster knockoff of a 50 series) with 3 1/2" tips at the rear bumper and it sounds a hell of a lot better. I would go with a 50 series if you want deep sound, plus they aren't as loud inside and are much deeper.
