I saw a 2005 today, there is a new gusset in the front shock area. The rest looks the same.

:) :D

PS the new shocks look and feel very good

I believe the frames are the same, but after the late 03's were switched the welds haven't broke as much. I have an 04 and am running MX with a aren's frame brace, so far no cracks, the paint hasn't even chipped off yet.

LOL the 04 frame seems to have no updates in strength, i would hope they will address the issues cause the Z frames suck!

I think they've addressed their frame problems in the form of shocks. Call me crazy, but I think a lot of their frame problems were the result of inferior front shocks bottoming out, and damaging the frame at the upper shock mount. Good front shocks SHOULD solve most of those problems. If you're racing you will probably still want to gusset it.

You weld support brackets in known places, that the Z400 frame is famous for breaking.

Like the upper shock mounts.

Better safe than sorry, especially when you can get a full gusset kit from Bare Performance for only $59.95....
