Anybody seen or heard of these big bore kits before? They are located about 45mins away from me. I talked to several places sparks, gtthunder and they say their big bore kits are still in development. I'm curious about these guys because they are so close....

Lots and lots of big bore 450Rs are blowing up out here on the west coast.

I just installed my FST 500 kit with a HRC cam for the XC race this past weekend, it pulls like my turned up Duramax, just smooth and torquey. You might want to give Mickey a call , he said he had more kits available.

is the FST 500cc kit just a piston?

Kit includes piston, rings, gaskets, and cylinder(exchange). FST cam is recommended but not required.

Did mickey port it also? What comp ratio and brand is the piston? 2 or 3 ring piston? Price if you don't mind me asking?

Mickey said not to do any port work unless it's a TT bike,it will kill the bottom-end. The piston is a 2 ring JE 12:1 comp, starts very easy with HRC cam. You'll have to call him for a price.

Bill....just curious if you are running straight race fuel or 93 octane. I read in a few other posts that you can run 93 octane, but I just wondering what you feel works best?

Thanks,

You can run pump gas with a cam at least as large as the HRC. I mix my fuel 50/50 just to be on the safe side, plus I like the smell:D

Thanks man, I am running the sparks cam so I guess I would have to do some research with the race gas. One more quick question are you running the stock gearing with the 500 kit?

No,I stayed with 13/38,works best for XC.

Where did you gain with the kit: bottom, mid, top or all over? I'm getting curious about the kit. Anymore feedback on how it works would be good........

With the HRC cam it picked up everywhere with the best gains being mid to top. Doesn't start much harder either,it will probably get better once I get the jetting dialed in. Ran good enough for 1st overall at the local XC series today.

I think it lists for around $700.00 with cam.
