Just wondering if there is any way to lower a 400ex without buying expensive shocks...

You can w/ like a TT kit you can get on rockymountain but your not supose to jump with it

What if you 'soften' your stock shocks, will that drop it any?

YOu can buy lowering kits but like TGW-400 said not good for jumping, as far as the 250x shocks DON'T DO IT!! It will handle like cr@p, we put them on our 400 for flattrack & it didn't handle well at all. You could go w/ an 18" rear tire & a 19" on the front that will lower it quite a bit ;)

Get a cheap lowering kit off e-bay....

You can get a Durablue front lowering kit for around $60-$70 online and custom fabricate your own for the rear and save an additional $80.
I suggest you only use this setup if you do not plan to leave the ground.
Like dirtmomma said, buying smaller tires will drop ride height around an inch which will help with yer center of gravity.
