dot 3 brake fluid can cause this as well as air in the lines. Flush it out and put in some dot 4 or dot 5 in. Rebleed and give it a whirl.

DOT 5 should not be used in a brake system designed for DOT 3 or DOT4. 3 and 4 can be interchanged 4 being better with a higher boiling point but DOT 5 is a completely different fluid not designed to work in place of the others.

Bleed the brakes and put in some good DOT 4 not the cheap walmart stuff:)

DOT 5 is fine, I've been using it for 10 years.

I never said you can't put it in there. It is just not the best thing for the system. Every tech book I have ever read on the subject all say the same thing.

mine fade BAD every now and then ill reach for the front brakes and the leaver comes all the way to the grips with no resistance AT ALL. but when i pump them a few times they come back just fine...there is no warning when it happens either, it just does it? ive reblead my brakes like...10 times and it does it atleast once a night?:huh

Check and make sure your rotors aren't warped. The slighest bend can cause those symptoms.
