View Full Version : Busted clutch cover on 450r

Has anyone had this problem? The kick starter idler gear goes bad and lets the kick gear ride up on it & hit the case & busting it. I was sitting on the line waiting for my main last night when it happened. This is the second time this has happened. I can't keep missing races because of this problem. If I cant keep this from happening I will have to sell it & buy a YFZ 450. I really don't want to do that because I am a Honda man through & through. Anyone have any info on this problem?

I don't know what to tell you because I have had not one problem with my 450r and I have started it TONS of times...... starting it is very easy all you got to remember is DON'T give it gas.

exactly.... alot of people have trouble doin that. i let someone ride my 450r, i musta said atleast 5 times DONT HOLD THE GAS WHEN STARTING and they just didnt get it...its almost like it was a reflex and their thumb would push it.
