400ex timing chain

I have a 2001 400ex and the timing chain knocks at an annoying noise level. How can i fix this?
Also, the front shocks squeak very loud when i just get on and off the quad, can i just put on some wd-40 or some other type of luericant. any help would be appreciated greatly.

Might just be your tensioner going bad and not the cam chain. Check that first..


WD on the shocks were they mount to the A-arms should fix the squeky problem..

I have the same problem on my 400ex. After we put the 416 kit in it, it ran great for a month then the timing chain lifter tensioner went bad. I replaced it and now after another month it went bad again. We have no clue whats causing this.
