Well, the turn out wasnt up to par with the past 4 or 5 races and for the people that didnt make it boy did you miss a great time!

The weather was picture perfect with high temps in the low 70's and track conditions were just about perfect for a XC race.

I was checking out the track when I came upon a strange sight. I think them Sturdivant brothers done made someone mad and they have to watch each others backs when they are walking the track:eek: Ill give them this, Brandon can walk as good backwards as Brent can frontwards:blah:

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:32 PM
Bill Marstiller was just having loads of fun waiting for his chance to sign up:p

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:34 PM
Kurt McGill was telling me he was a freestyle expert as well as a damn fast XC rider. When I showed signs of disbelief he busted out a heel clicker:eek:

Pro / A class

The first turn drops the riders down into a ditch and Kurt McGill #669 was doing everything he could to pull out the holeshot

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:43 PM
Kurt got pushed to the outside as Brandon Sturdivant(#165) charges in and Chris Bithell had the holeshot!

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:44 PM
Clouds of dust engulfed all but the first 3 riders

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:45 PM
#165 Brandon Sturdivant takes the #2 spot

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:47 PM
The remainder of the class works into the dust

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:48 PM
#10 Daniel Ramsey is almost invisible in the dust. Despite having a less then perfect start he rode hard and finished 7th overall!

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:50 PM
B class hit the track the second the dust settled with a Z400 rider claiming the holeshot!

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:52 PM
The rest of B class hammers threw the ditch and dust

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:53 PM
All of the B class showed great patience and no one got tangled on the start.

Pappy
08-08-2004, 04:55 PM
Vet class was next to hit the track with this 450R rider blazing his way out front

Pappy

Pappy

C Class 16~21 start

Tim Jennings #349 had a great start by grabbing the holeshot. He rode hard today and it was the best race Ive seen him run until his seat came off late in the race:( Tim ended up 7th in his class but I feel he would have been top 3 if the quad would have stayed together. Great race Tim!

Pappy
08-08-2004, 05:07 PM
Another shot of Tim and #360 Erik Marquis who finished just ahead of Tim taking 6th

Pappy
08-08-2004, 05:16 PM
Jordan Kimble was the first rider to break loose of the wreck and rode on to win the class!!

Pappy
08-08-2004, 05:18 PM
#92 Chris Cole had battery issues which caused him to be last off the line. He didnt let that bother him and took 3rd in C Class 22~29

Pappy
08-08-2004, 05:19 PM
Chris hammered thru the creek crossing

Pappy

Pappy
08-08-2004, 05:40 PM
Chris rode smart, taking his time crossing the creek trying to avoid getting soaked and possibly getting water somewhere it shouldnt be:p

Pappy
08-08-2004, 05:41 PM
Holding 2nd place, Brandon Sturdivant approaches the creek

Pappy

The tie rod nut backed off Brent S. quad causing him to have to stop and look for the nut. Amazing enough, it was firmly planted in the mud of his rim:eek: Hand tight is the best he could do but it worked to get him back to the pits.

Great pics pappy, you only called me Brent once. The new stuff works great,no more bucking rear. With some tuning it will work even better. The 500 kit worked well enough to eat my cluchtes, thank god it was towards the end of the last lap,but seriously it ran awesome.

Pappy
08-08-2004, 08:28 PM

I found my seat but i ran 4 laps without a seat and it was pretty rough goin up hills n stuff without it but i didn't wanna quit the race just because my seat wouldn't stay on. i was runnin a strong 1st place then on my 3 lap i smacked a tree and bent my bumper into my plastic and my plastic was just hangin on my quad and my seat wouldn't latch back cause it bent the mounts for it so i had to run the last 4 laps without it. sucked since i was runnin so good out there and was having a blast cause i wasn't even getting tired. but i guess i will save it for halleck if i race it.
