300ex Motor Tranmisson Blown Out

I have a 98 300ex. I was riding it when the rear tires locked up and I slid to a halt. I looked down to see oil spilling out onto my left leg, and shiny metal gears peering through the case.

So basically I'm here to say, "Whats your opinion?"

Do I replace the motor? I found a few 300ex mototrs on ebay, but they are asking close to $1,200 for a new or slightly used one.:(

Do I fix the tranny? The motor already has quite a few hours on it... we go riding all the time here in Central PA.:D

Do i sell it out right, without the motor and buy a new quad? But then wouldn't I lose my *** on that investment.:huh

well this could be your lucky day.

It just hapens that I have 300ex cases and a complete tranny that is just lying around my garage that I could sell you.

There is nothing wrong with it. It was just taking apart for the crank and counter balancer. the rest is in good condition.

I only have the two crankcases and the tranny, No crank or counter balancer, No side cover, no clutch, etc.

I don't really know how much I want just give me a affort I can't refuse.
