never heard of this..whats it supposed to do?

NO spring in stock carb. Cutting the spring makes it easier to push the thumb throttle.

Cutting the spring will actually make the push of the thumb throttle harder not easier. If you really want to make it easier you should sand/grind down the coils themselves.

BIll,
What the hell are you talking about. Either you are joking or lost in space.

Cutting a few coils off of the throttle return spring may make it easier to push throttle but may cause throttle NOT to close when you let off. This spring tension you feel is what pushes the carb plate back down and if it is too weak, may hang open at the wrong time. Remove throttle cover and put some light oil on inside moving parts. This may free it up a bit. May be a bad idea to cut spring.

to make it easier to push, you would grind down the coils themselves, so that they get thinner. But don't go too crazy when grinding, or the coil could break. I did this to my 250r, and itw works well, but you have to be a bit careful.

Cutting off a few windings will definetly help ease up your pull. From the factory it is overkill. Because of saftey issues. But dont go to far or your throttle wont fully close. I found out the hard way. Just do two coils at a time or so. You must maintain your cable, and throttle assembly more often to ensure no sticking!
