Do I need to run a chain guide on my 400ex? It's a stock swinger without the skidplate. I race MX only. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

ya it think u would be ok cuase some of the pros dont run one so ya:D

just make sure that your chain is always tight

I would run one. The chain needs to have some slack in it, especially if you're going to be jumping, so if you don't use one, your chain will start eating into the swingarm. You aren't saving any weight by leaving it off.

ya lol when i said tight i didnt mean no slack just so you can move it up and down like 3rd of an inch. also, if you do have one then use it but if you dont you can probabl get away without it unless you start seeing things go wrong.

Do they make ones that bolt onto a stock swinger?

i was also wondering about this. can you put a 250r TM guide on a stock ex swingarm, or do you have to drill and tap it.
