Whats wrong w/ this picture

Ok well for some reason today I decided to check on my carb & was gonna rejet down one BUT this is what I found instead :eek: :eek: it was still running :confused: but maybe this could be why it seemed to be running rich?????
NOW my next ? is does anyone have a spare 400 parts carb w/ the top cover & screws they could sell me :D that would be GREAT if so you can shoot me a pm or email me @ sandvig4@juno.com I can pay w/ paypal(the preferred) or check or whatever I guess ;) I REALLY need this I haven't checked the bike shop but iI'm sure they'll want a fortune!!
soooo let me know ASAP please OH BTW I NEED THE RUBBER GASKET TOO!!

I'm not surprised it was still running. Your slide is obviously supposed to move smoothly, so you certainly don't want to get any dirt into your slide. The only reason for the top is to keep dirt and/or water out of your slide.

It COULD have a negative effect if your engine pulls in air around your slide instead of through your intake. But the slide fits pretty snug, so I doubt a whole lot of air got sucked past the slide. Also, if this DID happen, your motor would be running lean, not rich.
