ihave a 2001 300ex and when ever i go through a rive the engine bogs out. my tail pip is not even under. my friend has the same quad and does nt have thisproblem! what do u guys thinkis wrong. i have no water in my air box eather.

Does it run ok after you get it out of the water? If not,I would guess your case is leaking and water is getting in the electricals. I had a xr 80 years ago that the chain came off and knocked a hole in the side cover, we tried to fix it but it always leaked and whenever I rode through water it would cut out. I carried the allen wrench that fit and every time we crossed a creek I would have to pull the side cover and dry it out.

i hae brand new gaskets and everything is nice and tight , no holes by the chain

guyz could it possible be that water is gettin in after the carb or b4 the carb at the joints where the carb meets the air box or the boot that goes into the motor???

nope nice and tight cold the weight of the oil have something to do with it?

Check your plug wire and connector as these could cause it to bog if the get wet inside the wire under the cap where it goes over the plug or even the CDI box etc.

take some (damn forgot the name again) electrical grease and fill but it aroung your spark plug car to keep water out. i know someone will come and give the name of the grease.

if it is a long water crossing i suppose if your carb has an over flow hose on it and its under water it would bog, not for sure though
