I've been doing smaller parts and i was tryin to do the chrome base with a trans over top. my problem is i cant get the trans to stick on the chrome. What would my problem be ? do i have to do something to the chrome coat before i spray the trans over top? how thick should the trans be applied?

apply the chrome powder, cure at 400 degrees for 20 minutes. remove the part and let it cool to 175 degrees. begin applying the translucent color as you would any other color.

once he gets the hang of it, he can let the part cool off a touch more. depending on the part it could take 10 minutes for it to cool or it could cool off very fast if its made of aluminum etc.

technically the current threw the gun should draw the powder to the metal even on the second coat, but the hobby guns just dont have enough *** to do the job consistantly even with a good ground so a few tricks need to be employed:p

trans colors are tuff, but i think you will agree that when it comes to appearence they are tuff to beat!

:huh Those look sick, even though I don't even like the colors I'd want those!

Pappy, how much do you charge for frame powdercoating?
