Kill Switch ?

Picked up a Pro- Design Kill switch and I'm having a little problem.
I connected the long wire to the black wire w/ yellow stripe that goes to the CDI box and the short to ground. Problem is now I can only start the bike in neutral. Is this the way it's supposed to be? I liked being able to start in gear. I have an aftermarket clutch lever so the original wires for the safety switch are spliced together. Is there another way to wire the kill switch up or do I have to live with it this way?:confused:

Double check all your connections, at the clutch lever and your ground, there has to be metal to metal connections.

I have the same set up and no problems.

Check the connetion of the green wire by the shifter too;)

Ground was loose on the coil. Thanks for the help.
